Katana SilentWave High Carbon Clay Tempered with Black Ishime Saya | KSA Feng
KSA āFengā Series ā SilentWave Katana | PerformanceĀ Hand-Forged High Carbon Clay Tempered Blade | Polished Edge | Black Ishime Saya | Genuine Rayskin
The āSilent Waveā is a high-performance katana crafted in a Maru (mono-steel) construction from high-carbon steel and clay-tempered for a perfect balance of cutting precision and smooth handling. Ideal for tameshigiri on tatami mats and traditional martial arts practice, it seamlessly blends functional performance with refined artistry.
The blade showcases a bold notare hamon that accentuates its elegant curvature and balanced geometry. A single bo-hi reduces weight while producing excellent tachikaze (auditory feedback), enhancing rhythm and control with every swing. The iron tsuba features an elegant openwork crane motif symbolizing longevity and good fortune, complemented by wave-patterned fuchi and kashira that add dynamic natural accents to the full koshirae.
The saya is finished in deep gloss black ishime-ji lacquer with a subtle textured surface and reinforced with buffalo horn at the koiguchi, kojiri, and kurigata for added durability and visual appeal. The tsuka is tightly wrapped in brown ito over white samegawa (genuine rayskin), with hishigami underlays ensuring a neat wrap and secure grip. The sageo is also brown, and a polished brass habaki with an intricately engraved kojiri completes the traditional detailing of this exceptional katana.
Perfect for practitioners and collectors alike, the Silent Wave embodies the fluid strength and minimalist elegance of classical Japanese sword design.
